Happy St. Patrick's Day ya'll---

Today would have been my dad's 102nd  birthday.  That's right , he was 48 when I was born and only 52 when he passed.  Although I was very young when he died, I still have some very fond memories of him.  Being Irish and a St. Patty's Day baby, he liked to celebrate his heritage/birthday.   I can remember him taking me to a neighborhood bar (it was a secret and Mom could not know) on his b-day to have drinks with a few friends.  My mom was at work, so he HAD to take me along.  Well, to make a long story short--to this day I can not drink ginger ale without  cherries and swizzle stick straws and still have a strong desire to dance a jig on a bar top. I was a grown-married woman with kids before I ever shared this story with my family.

So to all my Irish friends (and everyone is Irish today) drink a "cold one"  and remember to toast those you  love-- Past and Present.
