STEPHEN BISHOP SUCHY
Stephen Bishop Suchy, 55, passed away December 1, 2011. He was born in Pensacola the third of four children to John J. Suchy, Jr. and Mary Jane Bowen Suchy. Stephen enjoyed an outstanding career in hospitality that took him all over the world.
He left Pensacola after graduating from Escambia High to work on cruise ships where he worked his way up to Hotel Director for Norwegian Cruise Line. When he left the ships, Stephen went on to manage at some of the most prestigious clubs from Vespa Country Club in Massachusetts to the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Stephen opened the 1818 Club in Duluth, Georgia as general manager. He moved back to Pensacola in recent years to be near his family.
Stephen was preceded death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, brother, Daniel J. Suchy, two sisters, Suzanne Suchy Coffey and Constance Suchy Weiss, his nephews and a niece, and a favored cousin, Daniel Bowen and his two sons. Stephen was the pride and joy of his family. He brought joy and laughter to the many friends he made throughout his life. He was a generous and caring son, brother, uncle and friend and we are all the better for having shared in his life.
Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 9:00am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, services following at 10:00am.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Suchy, Paul Suchy, Daniel Bowen, Christopher Bowen, Christopher Weiss, Mike Young.
